Tina began her career at UGA in 2001 at the College of Veterinary Medicine as an Nurse Anesthetist. In 2004 she transitioned into a position with OVPR as the Certified Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee Coordinator. In 2013 she left UGA and went to work at Clemson University as the IACUC Coordinator only to return to UGA 3 years later as she accepted a position with ESD as the Fire Extinguisher Coordinator in February 2016. Within her first year back she won the Prestigious F&A “Tough Dawg Award”!
Tina works for the Office of Fire Safety at ESD. Tina is responsible for coordinating the efforts to provide a safe environment for the UGA community by confirming that all 10,000 fire extinguishers (FE’s) and several Automated External Defibrillator (AED’s) remain available and in working order under the NFPA 10 codes. To help accomplish this task Tina supervises 15 student workers who are assigned to individual territories across UGA to visually inspect these FE’s and AED’s every 30 days. She also coordinates the maintenance inspections with an outside contractor that certifies the FE’s annually. Tina and her team utilize chematix to track all inspections and their history.
