Jimmy joined the University in 2020 after spending 30 years with Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office as Inspector and Investigative Specialist.  From 2015 to 2020, he served as Director of Planning and Zoning for McDuffie County. He has received degrees in Business Management and Fire Science from Georgia Military College and has at least 12 Fire Safety related professional certifications.”  He is married with three daughters.  He is also a former Director of Georgia Fire Inspectors Association and CSRA Fire Investigators Association.  Member of GFIA, ICC, BOAG, and NFPA (Fire/Building Industry Associations).

He is currently employed as a member of Fire Safety at Environmental Safety Division and his official title is Fire Safety Inspector.  Jimmy primarily works as fire plan reviewer, fire inspector, fire investigator for the West Athens Campus and the Tifton Area Campus.  This includes fire plan review of purposed new and renovation construction projects, inspection of new and existing structures, and fire investigation of assigned structures.
