Jim joined the University of Georgia in 2015 after serving as the Assistant Director of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD). As Assistant Director, he was responsible for directing a diverse group of technical professionals involved in regulating statewide compliance and permitting activities for air protection, water quality and supply, land protection and waste. Jim is a registered professional engineer in Georgia.
As a member of the UGA Environmental Services Division, Jim provides technical support to assist all areas of the University subject to state and federal environmental regulatory programs. Jim regularly interfaces with environmental regulatory agencies representing the University to acquire environmental permits and facilitate compliance with environmental laws, rules and regulations.
