Online Safety Data Sheets

Safety Data Sheets are available online through SDSonline. You can access SDSonline through Chematix or the Environmental Safety Division Website.

Access to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in chemical laboratories is both a policy requirement and a critical element of safe teaching and research.  If printed copies of SDS sheets are not available for each chemical in use, lab personnel must demonstrate their ability to access the appropriate SDS sheets electronically using the SDSOnline system (which can be accessed through the ESD website and Chematix) or other electronic means such as the chemical manufacturer’s website.  It’s important that the SDS is specific to the chemical on-hand, its properties, and concentration.  For example, the SDS for 3% hydrogen peroxide and 30% hydrogen peroxide vary considerably, so be sure that the SDS matches accordingly.
