John has served as the Associate Vice President for Environmental Safety since April 2009. In this capacity, he is responsible for management of the university’s environmental, health, safety and regulatory programs including Environmental Affairs and Compliance, Environmental Health, Hazardous Waste Management, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety, Right-to-Know, Fire Safety and extended campus outreach services.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Georgia and a master’s degree in public administration from Valdosta State University.
John previously served for 27 years with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in the Wildlife Resources Division and in the Environmental Protection Division.
